Pendragon Contracts Cements Exclusive Hanson Deal
Pendragon Contracts, the contract hire arm of Pendragon plc, has cemented the sole supplier agreement for Hanson UK to provide fleet management, full maintenance and vehicle disposal management, and daily hire for 600 LCVs over the next two years.

The integration and flexibility of Pendragon Contracts’ service offering will enable Hanson to streamline its fleet management processes and deliver cost efficiencies through a proactive and bespoke partnership arrangement.
Hanson is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of construction materials, including aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, bricks, blocks and cement. The agreement was awarded after Pendragon Contracts demonstrated a totally integrated, flexible and cost-effective approach to the fleet management tender, involving its customer services, sales, finance and operations departments.
The arrangement harnesses data cleansing, a company vehicle policy, vehicle disposal, contract hire, accident management for 200 HGVs, bespoke invoicing procedures, real time online reporting, and maintenance management. As the contract involves the provision of HGVs, part of the fleet management services are being adapted to cater for the specialist welfare type and Chapter 8 vehicles.
Mike Roe, sales & marketing director of Pendragon Contracts, says: “The flexibility and adaptability of our service offering means we can cater for the special demands that unusual fleets and size variations impose. By involving all of our departments in the tendering process we have delivered a tailored, bespoke proposal that will allow Hanson to streamline its business and make efficiencies.”
Andrew Bridge, distribution director at Hanson Quarry Products Europe Ltd, adds: “We were really impressed with the integrated approach that Pendragon Contracts demonstrated. I am confident that using its specialist areas of expertise such as auction services, contract hire, accident management and online reporting that we can tailor a package to meet the very specific demands of our operation whilst providing better cost control and visibility.”
